^ How similar is it to the live-action, in terms of the characters and their behaviours? I know the fight scenes were pretty spot on. 8)

They take several elements of the book, compress them and recombine them, but I think overall they captured the spirit of the books very well. Some stuff is just a snippet, or implied, but knowing the books already, I kinda nodded, smiled and went "yeah..."  :D

Just about finished Panzertales - World Tank Museum. Its a reference book for the Kaiyodo 1/144 WW2 capsule collectible tanks. Contains lists of the vehicles and a collection of the manga style history behind the vehicles.

Got upto chapter 42 in Faith of the Fallen this afternoon - been working on a defect-fix over the VPN (where one click literally takes minutes to process). X_x

Picked up the autobigraphy Nerd Do Well by Simon Pegg (of "Sean of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz" fame, as if you didn't know  ;D). Looks like a fun read.

Many fans of the fantasy genre are looking forward to the upcoming , Game of Thrones, the first book in the Song of Fire and Ice series.
I think the  next book is set to come out in August/October 2011.

Spoiler:  Game of Thrones Trailer (hover to show)
I'm not too sure  but I didn't  see of Sansa or Arya in the trailer.
I recently  finished re reading a Game of Thrones ( I borrowed a copy)
If one reads the series can actually see where Terry Goodkind tried to copy certain elements ( such as the violence, sex and gore) Everyone keeps reminding of the many constructs Goodkind borrowed(stole) from the Wheel of Time series, never even bothering disguising that which he "lifted"

Finished Faith of the Fallen a moment ago. Loved the way it ended, threw in a few lekker surprises. The entire mid-section of the novel had me struggling to read on, but am glad it's finally over. :P Keen to see what direction The Pillars of Creation takes.

@ NeoN

Finished the Simon Pegg book - its rather a mixed bag and was a mission to get finished. I enjoyed his commentary about Star Trek, Star Wars and zombie films. A lot of the stuff about his early life, various experiences with drinking and smoking weed and his schooling were dull as ditchwater.

I would have liked to hear more about his actual involvement with his films and TV shows which tend to have spotty recollections.

A few chapters are "asides", with Simon acting as a superhero in a film kind of thing. Boring to read as they are more a weird fantasy of his than of merit to the reader. I read a few and skipped the rest.

That said, I am looking forward to his new movie "Paul" which gets a mention here and there.

^ Thanks BB. ^^

Am about to start chapter 6 of The Pillars of Creation. After watching the live-action series, the new characters introduced in the 1st five chapters are very easily recognizable - where the novel is trying to be all ninja about 'em. >_< Always awesome to learn more about characters I thought I knew, I know I'm gonna enjoy this one - I needed this, esp after the tough reading of the prev novel. :P

After all the heavy stuff I've been reading lately, I needed something lite - enter Star Wars : Death Troopers by Joe Schreiber. An imperial prison barge breaks down near a derelict Star Destroyer. The crew go aboard to scavenge for spares, but all is not as it seems. Soon the boarding party falls ill, spreading the contagion to the prisoners. But those that die don't stay that way... yep, its Star Wars with zombies!!!
