Was packing books at werk today when I came across the first two Suzumiya Haruhi novels. Didn't even know they'd been officially translated and published... They are:-

1. The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi

2. The Sigh of Suzumiya Haruhi

and also

3. The Boredom of Suzumiya Haruhi

I will be borrowing these forthwith!

Finished Haruhi book 1 - its a light, fun read, covering most of the first series of the anime - the only bits missing were the murder mystery island and the movie project.

Just started book 2.

I'm busy with Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick.

About half-way through now - really love Dick's writing style - it's fluent.

Temple of the Winds
Managed to get upto Chapter 50 something last week, between compiling code. With the CR due very soon, I haven't much free time to catch up on reading. T_T

Nearly finished The Sigh Of Haruhi Suzumiya - the whole book revolves around the movie they make for the bunkasai.

(Went and rewatched the anime ep of the movie they made for a laugh - it really is awful LOL  ;D)

Man, am loving where they've taken Temple of the Winds, a lot "uglier" than ever before. 8) Things are finally playing out as prophesized and it has me itching to find out what happens next. Hoping to finish it next week. ^^ As pointed out on the Shout Box, currently on chapter 58. ;)

Just finished Temple of the Winds. Was a lot more violent then the prev three, but was done in a really awesome and gripping way. Keen to find out what happens next to the Seeker-gang. :)

Will start the 5th novel in the Seeker series, Soul of the Fire, in a bit.

About halfway through The Otaku Encyclopedia by Patrick W. Galbraith. May seem an odd thing to read but it has lots of info on general otaku things as well as interview pages with idoru, mangaka and others including the model-maker Bome'.

Nice to wallow in otakuness again...
