Finished Book of Fate by Brad Meltzer (my favorite author). Now to decide between Digital Fortress (Dan Brown), World According to Clarkson or Dead Until Dark (Charlaine Harris, True Blood books)

Recently finished The Road by Cormack McCarthy - as grim as the movie, but very vividly written.

Busy with Stephen King's The Dark Tower II - Drawing of the Three. It's....different to the first book, but still damn good  :)

Once it's done I'll look into something Neil Gaiman related.

haha... Can't believe I didn't think of this before... :P

Busy reading the 2nd "Seeker" book, Terry Goodkind's Stone Of Tears. Part of the Sword Of Truth series, which the Legend of the Seeker live-action is based on. ;) Currently busy reading Chapter 50 something, been too long since I've picked it up though cause of... work, work work. X_x ::)

Does anyone know if there are any Cape Town libraries that have the Dexter novels?

I'm reading a book that I randomly took from the library. It's called Homeland by Clare Francis.

Am on the last chapter I think, maybe 2nd last, of the 2nd Seeker novel - wasn't able to finish it on Friday, bolted out of the office to miss traffic. :P Will most probably wrap it up on Monday. Heard from some1 that the end is epic, can't wait. 8)

Had noting to read on Friday so  I borrowed Wizard's First Rule and Stone of Tears from a friend. My copies were loaned to someone else and my friend’s copies happen to the re printed version with new cover design. I finished both books  Saturday.  :P

I'm still  quite impressed with the first book. It was a bold move on Goodkind’s part to add the BDSM elements. I especially liked Rachel’s POV (it just seemed better written than any other characters point of view.

Quote
Stone of Tears by Terry Goodkind page 309 (paperback)

When he finally reached her, she leaned toward him. “Why are they saying those things?”

“What things? I don’t understand their language.”

She gritted her teeth. “They think you are a wizard. Why would they think that? Why!”

Richard shrugged. “I would guess it’s because that’s what I told them.”

“What!” She pushed the hood of her cloak back. “You are not a wizard!  You have no right telling them you are! You lied!”

Richard folded his wrists over the high pommel of the saddle. “You’re right. I’m not a wizard. Yes, I told them a lie.”

“Lying is a crime against the Creator!”

Richard heaved a weary sigh. “I did not do it to play at being a wizard. I did it to stop a war. It was the only way I could keep a lot of people from dying. It worked and no one was hurt. I would do the same thing again if it would prevent killing.”

“Lying is wrong! The Creator hates lies!”

“Does this Creator of yours like killing better?”

Sister Verna looked like she was ready to spit fire at him. “He is everyone’s Creator. Not just my Creator. And He hates lies.”

Richard calmly appraised her heated expression.  “Tell that himself, did he? Come right up and sit down next to you and say ‘Sister Verna, I want you to know I hate lies’?”

She ground her teeth and growled the words.  “Of course not. It is written. Written in books”

“Ahh.”  Richard nodded. “Well then, of course it is the truth. If it is written in books, then it has to be true. Everyone knows that if something is written down and attributed, then it must be true.”

That was a really entertaining scene from the book.
Stone of tears starts of with a chapter from Rachel’s point of view, what a great start to the second book in the Sword of Truth series. The book was really enjoyable, though not as good as the first one (I doubt Terry Goodkind can ever eclipse Wizard’s First Rule.)
The only downside to this book has to be the  numerous chapters from Kahlan’s POV and I might be the only one that’s sad that it’s not Denna that ends up with Richard.

Starting "God is Not Great : How Religion Poisons Everything" - by Christopher Hitchins.

I'm sure the title says it all...

Just finished Stone of Tears. 8) I'll have to go hunt for the 3rd book, titled Blood of the Fold.
