If you mean "Disgrace" by J.M. Coetzee, then imo its a superb, if harrowing, piece of writing. But not aimed at someone your age.

Its the only book of his I've read, but couldn't put it down. Trust the school system to wrench any vestige of enjoyment out of literature by shoving it down your throat before you're able to truly enjoy it...

Finished Sword Of Truth - Naked Empire [book 8] this afternoon. Took just over five months to finish. Wow!

Have now started up Sword Of Truth - Chainfire (book 9). Pretty riveting reading in the 1st chapter as Richard is injured and is being treated, lil being known about what exactly went down prior to this.

Am upto chapter 4 of Chainfire and it's refreshingly riveting again! Kahlan has gone missing, we're not given the reason, but more so, no one seems to remember who she is save for Richard (he's just convinced the group that they have to find her). Man, I'm exciting to see where this goes.

I hope that since they've changed her name, they won't change her weapon of choice.
I know it's still a few years off but I wonder who's going to be cast as Penny.

I recently finished reading Lightning by Dean Koontz

Laura Shane would have been delivered by an inebriated physician, who would have botched the delivery. Unbeknownst to her parents, a stranger prevented the intoxicated doctor from leaving his house, thereby ensuring that Laura makes it safely into this world. At age eight, a junkie would have killed her and her father at the family’s store expect a customer blew the junkie away before he had a chance to pull the trigger. Three years later the same man saves Laura from a brutal assault. Unfortunately the stranger is absent  on few occasions where his aid would have been welcome, these situations  teaches her  self-reliance. Many years later, when she has a family of her own, her Guardian Angel reappears having not aged a single day since she last saw him.

Dean Koontz weaves  a  tale with Time Traveling Nazis and featuring a  very intrepid female protagonist, who in the face of adversity learns to endure.
Only complaint I have with  a number of Dean Koontz books is that everything is spread so thin, as if the author tries to  stretch a 250 page story into a 700 page novel.  Leaving that minor complaint aside, most  people should enjoy the novel.

Am upto chapter 13 of Sword Of Truth - Chainfire. Seeing as this is the 1st of three in the finale (or so I was told), there's a bunch of groundwork being done at the moment, so I gotta keep focused on any details being mentioned.

The Magician's Aprentice by Trudi Canavan. Gives some much needed background about the Magicians Guild and how it came about and the war with the Sachakan magicians. If your planning on reading The Black Magician Trilogy read the Magicians Apprentice first you'll now more about what their talking about.

Maximum Ride: Max (book6) by James Patterson. This is actually a teen book but I've found more adults reading this than teens. The Flock, main characters are biotech experiments with avian DNA mixed with Human and they all develop extra abilities as the series progress, needs to save Max's mother this time while trying to figure out how to stop the upcoming Apocalypse. The whole world now knows about them and some people aren't happy with their existence and actions and will do anything to silence them.

Am on chapter 25 of Chainfire. Riveting reading at the moment as a deadly invasion has just started, and pretty violently at that. Looking forward to how it plays out tomorrow.

Got upto chapter 51 of Sword of Truth - Chainfire this week. Pretty exciting times right now as all the characters who have vital info have gathered in one location - only took forever. :P Now they just need to share it amongst eachother and come up with a breakthrough. >_<

Finished Sword of Truth - Chainfire this afternoon. Being the 1st of an epic trilogy-ending it feels like things are sorta just taking off. With two books remaining, I'm uber keen to see what they have planned.

First novel I've read in ages : Death Star by Michael Reeves and Steve Perry, fills in the story of the battle station of all battle stations, from its construction, to the souls pressed into service by the empire, willingly or otherwise. Puts a face on all those nameless beings (a million or so) who went up with it when it was blown up in ep IV. A nice, light, interesting read.

^ Very cool!

Sword of Truth - Phantom
I'm currently on chapter 39. Just had a big twist revealed to us, a pleasant one at that, since it was the baddies who were caught by surprise. hehe.
