Is PC LAN Support Dying?
« on: April 01, 2010, 01:36:51 AM »
Lately I been checking out on the latest PC titles such as C&C4, AvP, BFBC 2, Supreme Commer 2. I notice theres no LAN support just online play.

I notice the LAN support are starting to fate away and I havent played much of the latest PC games in a LAN for a long time.

Seems they are hey. :/ And I rate it's done in an effort to minimize piracy - since LANs are where games are copied from one buddy for all to join in.

Personally speaking, I don't care either way as I've sorta stopped LAN'ing a while back. ::)

True about the piracy since its becoming really bad these days. You can still have a private LAN just as long you have the real game and internet. ;)

Lol NeoN we need to make plans having a LAN with you again then. ;)

Yip it's all about the piracy and this is their way of having a sort of DRM.

But I'm not too phased. When my friends and I do LAN it's usually older games that we know work - UT3, C&C3, Supreme Commander 1, etc.
