Carnivàle

Episodes: 24

Plot
Quote
Carnivàle take place in the Depression-era dust bowl between 1934 and 1935, a young man with strange healing powers named Ben Hawkins (Nick Stahl), who joins a traveling carnivalwhen it passes near his home in Milfay, Oklahoma. Soon thereafter, Ben begins having surreal dreams and visions, which set him on the trail of a man named Henry Scudder, a drifter who crossed paths with the carnival many years before, and who apparently possessed unusual abilities similar to Ben's own.

A  Methodist preacher, Brother Justin Crowe (Clancy Brown), who lives with his sister Iris in California. He shares Ben's prophetic dreams and slowly discovers the extent of his own  powers. Certain that he is doing God's work, Brother Justin fully devotes himself to his religious duties.

The series was supposed to run for six seasons  but was cut short.   One has great difficulty  defining the "good guy" or "bad guy".  Clancy Brown, who plays "Brother Justin" steals the show, you might remember him as the bad guy from Highlander 1.

BanzaiBoB, I'm glad you enjoyed Deadwood.
Earlier this year I saw  the Red Dwarf Back to Earth - Director's Cut (I borrowed it from a friend who bought it as soon as came out) While not that good a movie, as a Dwarfer I was more  than happy that  the movie was made. If you  do decide to get the movie, buy/borrow the director's Cut, the commentary track featuring the cast of Red Dwarf makes this a worthwhile  purchase.

Oh and BanzaiBoB have you seen Carnivale yet?

OMG! - I will definately try get my paws on the RD movie - even if its just to put it next to my series originals! (I've added it to my Takealot wishlist  ;D).

I have seen Carnivale. It was a superb series, and deserved to run the full 6 seasons. At the very least a third season rescripted to wrap up the story should've been produced!

Nip/Tuck

Episodes: 100
Plot
Quote
Nip/Tuck is an American drama series created by Ryan Murphy. The series focuses on McNamara/Troy, a plastic surgery practice, and follows its founders, Sean McNamara and Christian Troy. Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh) is having problems at home, trying to keep his family together, trying to patch up the rocky road he and his family are living. On the other hand, sex-craving Christian Troy (Julian McMahon) uses his charm to bring in potential female candidates and conducts shady business deals, often for the love of money. While Sean takes his job seriously, he often has to fix Christian's mistakes

Firstly  just watch the first  three seasons not that many people  like the other seasons.
This was a great  series  that made excellent use of music.
In this one episode two  students had their faces glued to the buttocks of  another student, guess what song played during surgery; Stuck on you by  Lionel Richie. ;D

^ haha, agreed! I also only saw three maybe four seasons. The concept initially was pretty cool, which is what drew me to it, but than later it seemed more like a pawno. >_> :/

Hmmm - dunno if a show that made it to so many seasons really counts...  ;)
