  • Fill your buckets with blood by causing suicide bombers to explode prematurely or shoot gory head shots!

Puzzle Dimension

{alt}
Quote
The rules for gravity and movement are easy to grasp. The objective "Pick all the sunflowers and exit through the portal" is simple - within minutes you will move in 3D structures and solve puzzles never seen before.

Addictive Gameplay
Find solutions to the puzzles and experience the satisfaction of "Aha" moments. With 100 unique puzzles there will always be many to choose from and hours of gameplay to look forward to.

High Quality Graphics
Your progression changes the audiovisuals - the retro look explodes in a fountain of pixels, revealing HD visuals. And the music reacts to your progress by blending between crystal clear music and 8-bit retro-style chip tunes.

World of Goo

{alt}
Quote
World of Goo is a multiple award winning physics based puzzle / construction game made entirely by two guys. The millions of Goo Balls that live in the beautiful World of Goo are curious to explore - but they don't know that they are in a game, or that they are extremely delicious.

  • Mysterious Levels - Each level is strange and dangerously beautiful, introducing new puzzles, areas, and the creatures that live in them.
  • World of Goo Balls - Along the way, undiscovered new species of Goo Ball, each with unique abilities, come together to ooze through reluctant tales of discovery, love, conspiracy, beauty, electric power, and the third dimension.
  • The Sign Painter - Someone is watching you.
  • World of Goo Corporation - Congratulations! World of Goo Corporation is the Global Leader in Goo and Goo Related Product, including World of Goo Corporation Trademark Brand Soft Drink Beverage and World of Goo Corporation Trademark Brand Facial Exfoliating Lotion. Succulent!

Braid

{alt}
Quote
Braid is a puzzle-platformer, drawn in a painterly style, where you can manipulate the flow of time in strange and unusual ways. From a house in the city, journey to a series of worlds and solve puzzles to rescue an abducted princess. In each world, you have a different power to affect the way time behaves, and it is time's strangeness that creates the puzzles. The time behaviors include: the ability to rewind, objects that are immune to being rewound, time that is tied to space, parallel realities, time dilation, and perhaps more.

Braid treats your time and attention as precious; there is no filler in this game. Every puzzle shows you something new and interesting about the game world.

Key features:
    Newly added Steam Cloud support
    • Save your in-progress game to the cloud, then play where you left off from on any Steam connected computer.
    Forgiving yet challenging gameplay:
    • Braid is a 2-D platform game where you can never die and never lose. Despite this, Braid is challenging — but the challenge is about solving puzzles, rather than forcing you to replay tricky jumps.
    Rich puzzle environment:
    • Travel through a series of worlds searching for puzzle pieces, then solving puzzles by manipulating time: rewinding, creating parallel universes, setting up pockets of dilated time. The gameplay feels fresh and new; the puzzles are meant to inspire new ways of thinking.
    Aesthetic design:
    • A painterly art style and lush, organic soundtrack complement the unique gameplay.
    Nonlinear story:
    • A nonlinear fiction links the various worlds and provides real-world metaphors for your time manipulations; in turn, your time manipulations are projections of the real-world themes into playful "what-if" universes where consequences can be explored.
    Nonlinear gameplay:
    • The game doesn't force you to solve puzzles in order to proceed. If you can't figure something out, just play onward and return to that puzzle later.

    Epic list dude. 8)

    Hope it's okay to discuss 'em Indie games in this thread, since I don' really have any recommendations of my own. >_>

    Used to love these sorta games in my uni days, esp the multi-player ones we used to LAN in the computer labs. >_< My fav being Counter-Strike-2D. ;) Since I started working though, it just hasn't been the same. Time's always been something that I didn't have enough of, and soon had to cut down and eventually stop playing 'em altogether. T_T

    Amnesia: the Dark Descent

    {alt}

    A horror game in its truest sense. I've only played the demon, but WOW (not Blizzard) did it royally scare the living hell out of me! I haven't been that scared since Silent Hill 2...

    Here's a brief synopsis:
    Quote
    Awake...
    Amnesia: The Dark Descent, a first person survival horror. A game about immersion, discovery and living through a nightmare. An experience that will chill you to the core.

    Explore...
    Amnesia: The Dark Descent puts you in the shoes of Daniel as he wakes up in a desolate castle, barely remembering anything about his past. Exploring the eerie pathways, you must also take part of Daniel's troubled memories. The horror does not only come from the outside, but from the inside as well. A disturbing odyssey into the dark corners of the human mind awaits.

    Experience...
    By using a fully physically simulated world, cutting edge 3D graphics and a dynamic sound system, the game pulls no punches when trying to immerse you. Once the game starts, you will be in control from the beginning to the end. There are no cut-scenes or time-jumps, whatever happens will happen to you first hand.

    Survive...
    Amnesia: The Dark Descent throws you headfirst into a dangerous world where danger can lurk behind every corner. Your only means of defense are hiding, running or using your wits.

    Do you have what it takes to survive?

    To anyone that's thinking about it, I must ask that you please do not pirate this game. Fractional Games deserves all sales from this amazing title.

    Yes, yes he is.

    I've read a lot about it on Kotaku, but haven't played it. Even saw a YouTube video of 1 guy building a 1:1 scale model of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701)!  :o
