Talk about any of the Final Fantasy games here. I'll start off with this little photo.

Apparently BT Games could only get about 100 copies of the Limited Collectors Edition for South Africa. I was damn lucky to get it today.

Luck, man! Lucky!

I guess the obvious question is: Who's going to be getting Final Fantasy XIII?

How to Try Out for Final Fantasy XIV Beta (US)

Quote
Now that role-playing game Final Fantasy XIII has been released in the West, gamers are looking forwarding to the next Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy XIV. Those who want to get into the beta, read on.

Know that you must be willing to part with money and purchase the PS3 version Final Fantasy XIII. Players can register the serial number on their copy of FFXIII to receive a crack at the beta for upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game Final Fantasy XIV as well as in-game item.

To get a chance at entering the beta, players must fill out a lengthy application, which lists things like internet speed and provide, router info, previously played MMOs and whether or not players have ever been guild leaders. Players are chosen for the beta based on their answers and not how quick they reply — meaning that it is not guaranteed every player will get a FFXIV beta invite. However, every PS3 customer does get the FFXIV in-game item.

Easy enough! Well, if you don't minding putting up cashola for FFXIII.

A similar promotion was rolled out in Japan when Final Fantasy XIII was released there late last year.

Since Final Fantasy XIV has not yet been officially announced for the Xbox 360, the Xbox 360 version of FFXIII comes with promo codes for Xbox LIVE avatar items.

Not really a problem since FF is on multiple platforms:
Wii
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (WiiWare)
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Dark Lord (WiiWare)
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time (Wii)
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers (Wii)
There are also a few on Virtual Console, but they're not released in PAL regions yet. In All honesty you can probably skip most of the above, except for The Crystal Bearers (maybe!) as they're not core titles.

PC
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy IX
Final Fantasy XI (MMO)

In all honesty  if you want a full FF experience I'd say get a PlayStation 3. The reason being that Final Fantasy 7 - 9 are available for download for it, and 13 is available as well.

@Cybernet - Dude, I still highly recommend you jam FF7, if you can get past the dated-visuals - IMO, the story will blow you away.

Not as long as some peeps I've met, but here's a list of the FF titles I've played...

Final Fantasy VII (all-time fav)
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy IX
Final Fantasy X (runner-up all-time fav)
Final Fantasy XII
Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced
Final Fantasy Tactics (Got stuck at some impossible-to-beat fight, and gave up X_x :/)

I've played a lot more than I listed, but these are my favourites.

EDIT:
Actually, Cybernet, I think the best option at present is to Google a GameBoy Advance emulator and Final Fantasy VI Advance. It was the pinnacle of the 16bit era for RPGs and was re-vamped for the GameBoy Advance.

EDIT 2:
I decided to start Final Fantasy I Advance. Playing it (via emulation) on the Wii.

I started on the first disc of Final Fantasy XIII last night. The beginning section reminds me a lot of FFX - so NeoN will like it :P

Okay so here are my pros and cons so far:
