I cannot remember for the life of me where i heard or read this. (C'est la vie)

3d will by this year be available on our TVs via the BluRay medium and one of the titles they wanted to start with is avatar.

I guess when i quoted this year it means in the US  :'(

Sorry if i went off board.

As for Cinema wise. Since monsters vs aliens more and more companies have began making stereoscopic as part of the production process.  ;)

I'm a huge fan of 3D movies, only ever see two though... Journey to the Center of the Earth and Avatar - loved both. 8)

Can't wait for 3D to enter the "Home" but as Cyber mentioned, the wait will be long, esp for us here. :/

Been enjoy 3D movies at cinemas lately. Watched so far in 3D is Ice Age 3, Avatar, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and Toy Story I and II.

Although with playing games in 3D it might be too much for me since watching Avatar in 3D already gave me enough eye strain for me. :P

Maybe with just movies it will be fine with me.

Hmmm... like all new things, it'll take a while to really get going. It also takes a while to be used properly. While I've seen Ice Age 3 and Up in 3D, it was really Avatar that used the new tech the best.

The thing is, it needs to be done well so as not to be noticed for it to be most effective imo. Its still a bit klunky on the eyes I find, but when it works, its verra nice  8).

Its definately a step in the right direction. I still think the 3D stuff is very much a gimmick as it doesnt really add to the movie. But its getting there very soon.

Of course when they mainstream 3D-tv, we will obviosly need to get new tv's, which the majority of us wont be able to afford. But its getting fair review in the UK.

EDIT: there are many 3D movies coming out in the next 2 years.

^ On the note of it being a gimmick, gotta say that How to Train Your Dragon made splendid use of 3D during those flight sequences (luved the clouds) - unlike Alice in Wonderland, which felt blurry during those rapid scenes. ::) :/

Can't wait to catch Clash of the Titans in 3D next weekend. 8)
