« on: July 20, 2011, 07:17:30 PM »
OMFG so f***ing hype right now:

In a press release initially posted by Shadowloo.com, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and its details were revealed today. More details are assumed to be coming in the next couple of hours.

Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, and Marvel Entertainment today announced that Ultimate Marvel® vs. Capcom® 3 is in development for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will take the epic battle to all new heights with new iconic characters from the Marvel and Capcom universes, a refined fighting system, eight new stages and new modes when it releases this November for the low MSRP of $39.99.

The highly acclaimed fighting game adds 12 new legends to the robust Marvel vs. Capcom 3 roster, bringing the total overall roster of characters up to 50. The first new characters revealed for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 include much-requested Capcom character Strider who slashes his way into the fray along with Ghost ‘n Goblins™ villain Firebrand. On the Marvel side, Ghost Rider will finally exercise his vengeance and Hawkeye will pick apart foes. More characters will be revealed in the coming months.

In addition to characters, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 features a host of enhancements and new features to improve the game’s balance and online functionality. One of the biggest additions to Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is the fan-requested Spectator Mode, which allows fighters to watch live online matches together. With multiple improvements and 12 new characters, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 brings home the ultimate fighting experience for newcomers and pros alike.

Justin Wong added that Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be released on his birthday

Yup it's vergil

• You can now X-factor in the air.

• Phoenix can only have one action per jump... meaning one fireball then she floats down.

• Characters now say something upon entering the screen when the previous character died.

• Many of the returning cast has new moves, or moves that act differently, (Ryu's Hyper Fireball now bounces off of walls, Taskmaster and Spencer are shown with new moves.)

• Ghost Rider has at least 2 special moves that OTG, and his two level one supers appear to OTG. His level 3 super is a grab where he uses the Penance stare on you.

• Strider is the first character to have two level 3 supers, (Ragnarok, and the Ouroboros.) Most of his moveset from Marvel 2 was shown. His robot animal super OTGs.

• Firebrand's level 3 appears to summon a computer controlled doppleganger firebrand to assist.

• Hawkeye's level 3 super OTGs. He fires off Antman, who hits the opponent, then grows in size and gives the opponent the biggest Monty Python boot known to man. Hawkeye has different arrows he can fire depending on the button pressed (frozen shot, poison shot, piercing shot, triple arrow, scatter shot, and net shot are shown.)

• Wolverine's Berserker Slash is not invincible and slower.

• Viewtiful Joe has the "Slow Dodge" move now. It's a special move that's super cancellable. In the Viewtiful Joe games, if you activated Slow and you got attacked, you'd dodge.

• Magneto has a new special move where he sucks you in with magnetism. Gravitation magnetizes the opponent. Repulsion pushes them away. Attraction pulls them towards you. His air-to-ground dash is slower now.

• Akuma's Hurricane Kick Assist doesn't knock down anymore, the opponent will flip out.

• Ryu can charge up his fireballs and they fly so quickly you can barely see them on screen. Charging can be done by holding down the button, like in Street Fighter X Tekken. A fully charged fireball will explode on contact, causing a wall bounce. He can also charge his Shoryuken now. Ryu can cancel his overhead with special moves now.

• Taskmaster has a new move called the Charge Sting. It impales the opponent, can combo into it. It appears that he can grab after his Charging Star move now.

• Dormammu's Flame Carpet OTG now pushes the opponent very far away. Much harder to combo from, even with an assist.

• Wolverine has a new move where he does a bunch of slices at close range, with the odd shoutout to "Swiss cheese." This attack is similar to Chun-Li's lightning legs, except it's with his claws.

• Storm has a move that pulls in the enemy and pushes them away with wind.

Nemesis looks like another Tank character similar to Hulk and Sentinel, easy to use and easy damage. Kind of reminds me of Q a bit with some of his moves and they way he moves. Seems to be pretty decent, wouldn't be surprised if people dropped Hulk for him.

Doctor Strange looks awesome though and very technical kind of get a feeling of him being a mix between Magneto and Mu-12 from BB. Seems to have that trap setup rush down style. Some very awesome hypers though, I can see people dropping Magneto for Dr Strange. Might be the next Phoenix especially with him being able to setup a couple air moves.

I got a chance too play this at rAge and wow it is absolutely amazing.

First off I don't know how but Ster-Kinekor managed to get the latest build for rAge so both Vergil and Iron Fist were playable.

Got a chance to play with everyone throughout the day and towards the end of the day had tons of matches since it was winner stays so I got to stay on till they closed :)

Was great, of the new characters though Hawkeye is just awesome, his assist and supers are great for anyone. Can really see him taking Taskmasters spot. He got me the most excited during the day. Played with him a lot. Works well with Wesker and Ryu.

Nemisis also surprised me, lots of great tools but slow recovery but damn he has good reach and supers. Was an eye opener playing him, could see lots fo guys dropping Hulk for Nemisis. Ghost Rider and Nemisis seem to get a great team together.

Speaking of Ghost Rider I can see a lot of guys playing him, he is just so cool, I don't know if he will be amazing in the game but from what I played he seems to be really good with awesome normals. Can J.s all day.

I didn't get much change to play Iron Fist and Dr Strange, they seem quite technical compared to the others and I didn't get much chance to mess around with there stuff, also not many people chose them. From what I played of Iron Fist he has great damage ouputs and crumples. You just can't do standard magic series with him, you have to crumple in order for the S to hit and launch.

Strider was another that surprised me, he is damn fast with teleports and wall zips all of the place really had fun with him hope to try him out some more soon.

Vergil I didn't really like just didn't click with him, maybe when I get a chance to sit down and play him I will change my mind. Didn't use him much.

Firebrand was the only character I did not play.

Played a lot with Ryu and damn he is awesome, really love the buffs he got and his new super. Really great to play him now, he is quite mobile as well was easier to dash and do moves since he can now cancel his dashes so a lot of stuff hit. seems his hit box also got increase, I was messing up my OTG combos because I thought I had to wait to long but it just seems his hitbox was bigger now and easier to do the combos.

My only complaint, we could not record matches, WTF Ster?????

Also made some guy incredible salty which felt great cause he thought he was the shit then he proceeded to tell me I play like the CPU lol

^ haha, nice!

Got to see 5NAKE jam it and it was very cool. He chose Virgil a couple times so that was awesome. Compared to Street Fighter X Tekken, this one was oozing fun! 8)
