Thought I'd split this off (like NeoN did with doccies), so if you're busy with a series of comics, or enjoying a graphic novel, tell us all about it.

I'm busy with the latest volume of the superb WW1 series, Charley's War. Chapters were originally released in the '80s as a serial in the boy's Battle comics. Now collected into hardcover volumes, they're one of the rare things from my childhood which haven't dissapointed now that I'm looking at them again.

Pride of Baghdad - inspired by the true story of a group of lions who escaped from the Baghdad zoo during operation Iraqi Freedom. Quite grim and gruesome in parts, the story considers what true freedom really is. A short read at 130 pages and very well illustrated.

I have The Dark Night Returns and Year One, both of which I still need to read. I cannot even remember when I picked them up.

Well, after some confusion, I've managed to sort out the order of the Army of Darkness comics, and fill in a bunch of gaps I had. So now I have to back track a bit and read some of the one's I missed.

But before I did that, I finished Army Of Darkness - The Long Road Home - Ash finally defeats the Deadites, but now they've been replaced with a demon horde intent on bringing the apocalypse - can't a guy catch a break?

Anyway, this story is halfway through series 2 of the AoD books - I'm heading on back to series 1 to finish what I missed...

The first of which is Army of Darkness - Old School, where Ash returns to the cabin in the woods where it all began in the hopes of severing the Deadite's spirit connection to this world.

Me neither, and this doesn't include the crossovers, of which there are a bunch, and a half dozen or so random related stories like "Ash's Christmas Horror" or "Ash saves Obama".

^ Kinda so-so, though it does get referred to off and on.

And speaking of zombies:-

Got (and devoured) my copy of FUBAR - Overall a bit hit-an-miss. Some really good art, some much less so; some really decent stories, some kinda lame. It mainly suffers from a similar problem as short story compilations do - you get a nice taste of a story, but then it just ends. I want more! Plus, you only get part 1 of the "Mother Russia" story, which was one of the better ones :(.

Still, a fun addition to my collection. Coming Soon "FUBAR 2 - House of the Rising Sun"...

Some more Army of Darkness : Ash vs Dracula, where our intrepid hero fights off the classic monsters - vamps and werewolves; The Death of Ash - is this the end of our hero? Probably not. Home Sweet Hell where the deadly sins try to recruit the chosen one to replace the missing Sloth; lastly King for a Day - Ash finds himself back in the medieval past where he finds out the Deadite horde he defeated wasn't the only horror unleashed by his mis-spoken words.

The last of the AoD stuff I have , for a while anyway:-

Hellbillies and Deadnecks - Ash retires off the map to try and keep the Necronomicon from doing its dastardly work. Instead, he manages to infect the water supply of a small town with evil...

Montezuma's Revenge - a short one-off in which Ash gets sucked into an ancient cave in mexico to battle the re-incarnated leader of the aztecs.

and lastly, we meet up with Ash as he tries to find the last of the evil contained in bottled water shipped from the town who's water supply he messed with (this story is untitled, but I guess could be AoD H&D part 5).

^ Where are you getting all of these? Did you buy them all at the same time, it must have cost a pretty penny?

I do own some of them, but the AoDs are *coff*scans*coff*... No way I can close to afford them otherwise. I buy what I can, borrow others and make up the difference with DLs...
