Two more eps of Lock 'n Load featuring Helicopters, and Field Artillery.

Ultimate Weapons - awesome 6 part series on the state of current weapon tech, including robot combat systems, CQB weapons, sniper rifles and shock-and-awe weapons (like the massive 28000 pound MOAB - the next size of bomb up from this is a nuke!).

James May's Things You Need to Know - about your body, the universe, and the weather. Lots of fun facts, and Monty-Pythonesque animations.

Superheroes - real-life superheroes that is, or at least people who wish/think they are. Looks at the rise of small groups of people who dress as superheroes and take to the streets to try and fight crime. Some are, well, nuts, but most are trying to bring a bit of justice back to areas made increasingly unsafe by corrupt government, criminals and general apathy.

MacHEADS - while watching this, one thought kept running through my head - "What the hell is wrong with these people?". Seriously, I like my PC too, but these folks are a bunch of nutters. The cult of Mac - yah...  ::)

And I thought the "MacHeads" were a bit... wack-a-doodle. Then I watched Trekkies. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big otaku geek, love anime, sci-fi etc etc... I'd cosplay if I could afford too (but only when appropriate), and my DVD, figure etc collection would also be 10 times bigger. And I actually have a framed Enterprise cutaway above my bed...

But these guys - the really, really hardcore Star Trek fans, are in another league. Some of them wear their uniforms to work - one insists on being called "commander" by her colleagues. But hey, what the hell - if it makes you happy...

^ haha, that sounds pretty cool. Would love to watch it if I ever had the chance.

Secret Origin - The Story of DC Comics
Learnt so much from this doccie. What blew my mind was how they had to change up the characters and their story-lines to match the times - before the war, during the war, after the war, and so on. Fantastic to see that the doccie gave kudos to the select few who kept the comic book alive with their revolutionary thinking - if not for them, comic books, and super heroes, might have died out a long time ago.

National Geographic - The Story of Earth
Learnt some fascinating facts about life before the dinosaurs. Thought dinos were the 1st, but man was I wrong - there were actually dino looking creatures before 'em, but they went extinct cause of climate changes. Was pretty horrifying how the Earth's core can cause such violent earthquakes, tsunamis, acid-rain cause of the gases released during volcanic eruptions and green house gases being released which trap heat, toasting life. The conclusion of the doccie mentioned that we've only seen the 1st half of the history of Earth, which means in it's next 4.5 billion years, one only imagine the same sorta events happening again - continents colliding, ice ages, nuclear winter. One thing we can take away from this, is that life goes on. ;)

IMAX Hubble
This doccie focused on supposedly the last mission to repair the Hubble Space telescope, way back in 2009. Was cool to see actual footage of the crew performing their repairs. Was surprised how many things went wrong while they were up there - nuts and bolts not wanting to unscrew, things blocking repaired-units from sitting back into it's original place. Goes to show, even with tons of training the unforeseeable will always happen.

Cool It
Doccie looking at global warming but at a slightly different angle. Bjorn Lomborg looks at new cost effective ways to battle global warming, he also explains on what global warming is because most people has this horrific view that the world is going to end in a few years because of everything humans are doing to the planet, apparently the media has blown it totally out of proportion.
The new technology that's being developed to slow down the heating of the planet is quite amazing and even simple things like painting the roads and building surfaces white in a city can bring the temperature down by 5 degrees. Unfortunately many of the top environmentalist are unwilling to take these approaches cause it would mean they have been wrong in their approaches so far and most importantly less money for them.

How to Build - a Supercar
It follows Formula 1 racing team McLaren as they build the new MP4-12C supercar, as well as sheds light on their new factory to mass-produce said car. Was very cool seeing Jensen Button and Lewis Hamilton making cameos.

Hellboy: The Seeds of Creation
A 2+ hour doccie on the making of the 1st Hellboy live-action - since it was so long, I thought it would have covered both movies. :P lol. Being as long as it was, it touched on a lot of scenes I haven't seen before - not just the usual alien make-up that would take 4-5 hours each morning. The attention to detail really blew my mind. I now have a great appreciation for what a director does in a movie. ;)

Supermassive Blackholes
Learnt that each and every galaxy is held together by a supermassive blackhole - so they aren't just randomly spiraling around nothing. :P

Killer Asteroids
As the title suggests, this doccie discusses asteroids that could one day impact the Earth as well as what we can do to prevent it. One of the 1st suggestions was to blow up the asteroid with a nuclear explosion - just like the awesome movie Armageddon. >_< IRL though, an explosion will not destroy the asteroid but rather just leave smaller pieces falling towards Earth, which is no better. Another solution was to detonate the nuclear weapon near the asteroid 10 years before it impacts Earth, thus deflecting it enough to miss us. The last suggestion was to use a gigantic magnifying glass to burn a hole in the asteroid, causing it to release gases and thus deflecting it away from Earth.

As you can gather by now, I luvz my astronomy doccies. >_<

Comet Collision!
This doccie was also about the impending doom of a comet hitting Earth, but mainly focused on crashing a payload into a comet to get a better idea of what makes up a comet. Was fascinating to see the six year project, from initial ideas, to problems during simulation-testing, to calculating a collision-course. Even after launch, there were a few moments where we held our breath, but all 'em years of hard work and ingenuity paid off as the mission was a success!
