Seeking Justice
Caught it earlier today. Had no idea what it was about, but it had Nick Cage so it was a must-watch. xD lol. The title sorta gave me an idea of what to expect but I'm glad to say, the movie had a few twists which made it all the more awesome!

Some random stuff:

Shark Night - lame "Lake Placid" wannabe. Standard bunch of dumb college kids get wiped out one by one, this time by sharks added to a salt water lake by a bunch of rednecks making snuff movies from their deaths. At least the CG sharks are decent. You're better off with "Deep Blue Sea" if you want a creepy shark movie imo.

Dead Heads - weak zombie flick, where a bio weapon leak sets of a spate of zombie attacks. The weapon was supposed to create the perfect soldier - one who would keep going even after being killed. Consequently, some of the zombies are still sentient. And one of them just wants to go home and find his girlfriend who thinks he committed suicide three years earlier. Kinda meh. Despite the comments on the movie poster, this isn't  even close to films like "Sean of the Dead".

Scream of the Banshee SyFy TV movie. A group of researchers cataloguing a collection of artifacts, stumble across a weird box containing a banshee head. The disembodied head lets rip with a terrible scream before disintegrating. Cue freaky dreams, and the banshee reborn, assaulting all those who've heard its cry. So-so movie, but the rather abrupt ending is something of a let down.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Watched it on Sunday. After catching the beginning bits during breakfast on Thursday or maybe Friday, I had to watch the rest of it. xD Still as awesome as I remember - not as funny though (since ofc the jokes aren't brand new). :P

Tower Heist
Not what I expected in terms of the actual heist, so that made it way better than I dreaded (in the back of my mind). :P The comedy segments were pretty good, and that's what I mainly watched it for.

Chronicle
Caught it yesterday at Monte after a buddy said it sounded good. Reading the IMDb.com description, I was sold...
Quote
Three high school friends gain superpowers after making an incredible discovery. Soon, though, they find their lives spinning out of control and their bond tested as they embrace their darker sides.

Had no idea it was one of those movies that was shot using hand-held. If I had known this prior to watching it, I might have skipped it altogether. In the end though, glad I caught it. Was cool watching 'em developing their powers and having fun with it. Loved the ending, had a lot of raw emotion to it.

War Horse - actually really enjoyed this. I wasn't too sure what to expect only being peripherally familiar with the book/play, but it turned out to be a very good watch. (Plus there was a tank!).

Miracle at St Anna - mediocre Spike Lee film about black soldiers fighting in Italy in WW2. Two dimensional characters and some psuedo-religious BS do not a good film make.

Hugo
Enjoyable but rather strange. xD Had some idea of what to expect since I caught the behind-the-scenes, but that also made it a bit deceiving since it wasn't exactly what they said it was going to be. Haven't seen a character-driven movie in a while, so it was pretty refreshing.

Caught a double-feature at Monte last night.

This Means War
Funnier than I was expecting it to be, and thus more enjoyable. Had it's predictable moments ofc, but nothing overly stupid. :P

Safe House
Having only started at 22:30, most of us were falling asleep towards the end. xD Didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would, maybe cause of the drowsiness. >_>

Star Trek: The Motion Picture and Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan. I quite like these old school ST movies. They're actually pretty decent in terms of story and effects.

John Carter TL;DR Avatar meets Dune.

But actually in a good way. Overall a fun movie, despite a few niggles. Well worth a look if you want to disengage brain and enjoy a few laughs and some great action.

Puss in Boots - good fun, better than expected, especially after the truly dreadful "Shrek 3".

John Carter (3D)
Knew the CG was going to be awesome, based on the trailer, but was worried the story/substance might be thin. To my pleasant surprise, it totally blew my mind! 8) Loved every minute of this movie. Am really glad they took the time to lay the ground work on Earth instead of just throwing us into the awesomeness that is Barsoom. xD

Star Trek V - The Final Frontier - not one of the better entries in the series. Might've been okay as a TV episode.

Star Trek Generations - another mediocre effort, only really notable for having the Enterprise B, and screen-time with both Kirk and Picard.

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones

Was fantastic catching them again after all this time, was motivated to start 'em up after the guyz pulled out from catching the 3D one at the cinema. Hoping to watch all six as the weeks go by. :)

Beautiful Kate - Australian drama about incest and redemption. Superbly acted.

Screamers - The Hunting lame title for this follow up to the original "Screamers", but actually a pretty decent B-movie sci-fi flick. Good acting, effects, and a reasonably creepy finale all made this a way better experience than I was expecting.

Have had Justice League: Doom lying unopened on my desk for nearly a month now. Will put an end to that tonight.

Wrath of the Titans (3D)
Sigh, having seen the multiple trailers covering the various baddies, it felt like I was watching this movie for a 2nd time. :/ No real surprises. The highlight for me was the 3D. :P
