New shows
« on: September 14, 2010, 11:13:44 AM »
So the new American TV season is upon us. Although some shows have already started, the majority begin next week.

Many of our favorite shows are returning, along with a plethora of all-new shows.

Here are a few of the new shows. I have no idea what either of them are about.
Spoiler: New Shows (hover to show)

So any of you guys going to pick up any of the new shows? Which ones?
Also if anyone actually knows what any of these are about, please do share. The Event looks decent.

OMW! That's pretty overwhelming. Good idea in creating this thread, since there's no way I'd be able to watch 'em all.

They've remade Hawaii Five-O ??  :o :o :o  ZOMJ!

Don't know which new one's I'll be watching - hopefully some good comedy in all that. Mostly I stick with Sci-Fi/Fantasy type shows.

BTW as we're talking about new shows, I hear they've made
(are making) the George RR Martin fantasy novels (overall title: A Game of Thrones) into a series. I really enjoyed the first book but have yet to pick up the rest.

Series could be good (If its up to the standard of "The Pillars of the Earth") but considering the crappy "Seeker" series (soz NeoN  :P)...

Saw 1st ep Nikita last night. Didnt really impress but I will watch a few more (most likely the whole season tbh, I can watch Maggie Q all day). Story-wise, they walking on thin-ice here as the whole criminal turned secret-agent/assasin thing has been done to bits before.

The Event or THE EVƎNT has piqued my interest too as it is being pumped to hell and back in the comics I read and the last time they did this much advertising for a show was for Fringe and that was awesome.

The Premise: The Event follows Sean Walker, a man who, while investigating the mysterious disappearance of his girlfriend, ends up unraveling the biggest cover-up in U.S History, Abraham Lincoln was only five foot two.

I'm always up for a good conspiracy theory. ;)

Will watch Nikita its quite good. Mike & Molly is funny and Im quite enjoying it. The Event is cool too, has aliens!

Other than those, Im only watching the continuations of what I normally watch.

Boardwalk Empire was boring as was Chase.

The new anime season starts on Friday!! ;D

A week and a half later and I've only seen a handful of new shows...

Shit My Dad Says
Seen epi one. Not finding it that funny, but will watch epi two to see which direction the series is going to take.

No Ordinary Family
Seen two episodes, loving it quite a bit. Intrigued to see how the family grows and develops over the season.

The Event
Seen three epi's and enjoying it more and more. :P As stated in another thread, this is one of my fav new shows. ;)

Nikita
Surprising fantastic. Seen three epi's thus far and it's way better than I could have hoped. Can barely remember the original La Fem Nikita, and from what I did, it made no sense at all. >_<

Lost Girl
Still on the fence about this one. Sure the characters are gorgeous, but the per-episode-story hasn't grabbed me yet. Also the "bigger picture" is unraveling at a slow pace, which can't really be a complaint since I'm only three epi's in. The biggest issue I reckon is the lack of a mind-blowing cliff-hanger-ending each epi. >_>

---------------------------------------------

Can't believe how many series I still need to start. T_T Was hoping to finish it all by tonight, but judging by the time, that's not gonna happen - got bowling with the guyz in the evening and I still gotta have lunch.

Tried ep 1 of Lost Girl - was over it in about 10 seconds - only watchable if you're a 14 year old emo goth chick imo  ;)...

My feedback on some of the other new shows I've started...

Outsourced
Seen upto epi 5 of this one tonight, and it totally owns. Taken the spot as one of my fav new shows, frankly it's the only "half-hour" show I'm really keen to watch. :P Being Indian myself, it's awesome being able to relate (and poke fun of) the events portrayed on screen. >_<

Running Wilde
For some reason this one has me coming back for more, probably cause it has two dudes from the series Arrested Development. Currently five epi's in.

Hawaii Five-0
Huge fan of Alex O'Loughlin, previously from the vamp series Moonlight. 8) Haven't seen the original series, but am liking this one - esp Alex' character. ;) Currently two epi's in.

Chase
Love the hardcore-ness of this one, way more grittier than other cop shows - which is exactly what I expected from a series following US Marshals. Three epi's in so far.
