Thanks for the link BB, learnt something new. ^^

After watching an epi called "Edge of Space" (from the Extreme Universe series), it made me realize just how insanely large our solar system actually is - including the recently discovered solar-dust ring (could be an ice-ring) behind Pluto, our solar system is twice as big as we think it is. Means traveling to other stars seems all the more impossible. T_T

@ NeoN - sadly this is so. Space is mind-bendingly huge. Until such times as Faster-Than-Light engines and/or Wormhole-Passage technologies leave the realms of sci-fi,
we won't be heading out beyond the immediate confines of the few planets closest to us, for some time.

True. When i go on a trip overseas and come back i always get to see the layers of pollution instead of the stars.  :(

Howick and Worcester sometimes rate about a "2" on a good night. Crystal clear winter skies in KZN are starwatcher heaven.

(Thought I'd posted this, but guess I didn't)

Did any of you know that the Russians actually sent robot rovers to the moon way before NASA sent theirs to Mars? Saw a cool doccie on these a little while ago.

Forgot to bring this up earlier...
But did anyone catch the sun a few days ago? 8)

I finally went to go see it after my mum called me at work and told me to. :P Before that, I just Googled it and checked out the piccies online. >_< Man, the real thing was so much better, it did leave my right eye sore for an hour after though. >_> Worth it! :P

Was totally surprised that there wasn't any form of heads up about "the event". :/ The results/articles I got back when Googling were from 2008 and 2001 (previous occurrences). X_x
