As the resident Norrin Radd (that would be the Silver Surfer’s real name, kids) super geek here on DamnLag, it is my duty to report to you the greatest rumor I’ve read in ever: the Silver Surfer may be joining the cast of Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

• Niitsuma runs through the playable Fantastic Four cast of Doctor Doom, Super-Skrull, and now Silver Surfer, who will be shown off later this month. There are no screens of Silver Surfer yet, just a little portrait along with the other two fighters from that series.

• Silver Surfer is very quick and has a unique playstyle. He never stands on the ground, instead he's always hovering on his board, and he's recommended for advanced players. Doctor Doom was suggested as a good place to start for Fantastic Four fans who are new to the Vs. series.

• They've added more attacks from the Invisible Woman to Super-Skrull since the last public build.

• Also, Niitsuma mentioned that the Fantastic Four play a major role within the basic plotline of arcade mode, and that the final boss should be familiar to fans of that series.

Dormammu and Viewtiful Joe were both confirmed for as playable characters for Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Here is the artwork for both characters along with some screens.

Why is Super-Skrull in? He's just going to have a bunch of moves from the other Marvel chars.

IMO he's also a useless character.

He is in due to the popularity of the Fantastic Four and he is obviously the best solution for having them in the game, instead of taking up 4 slots for characters you just have one character with all 4 of the characters powers. I'd much rather have him than the 4 Fantastic Four characters, plus from the vids he seems like a very good character with some damaging combo's.
