Gantz Live Action!

If you have watched the anime or read the manga, then you need no introduction and will probably join me in jumps of joy.

When Oku Hiroya returned last year to annouce that he was in the process of finalising the final story arc for his popular sienan manga Gantz, Young Jump announced the production of a Gantz live action movie project.
The movie is slated for a 2011 release in Japan and will split into two parts. A summer and winter release.

When approached, the actors and director all mentioned that the movie will try its best to closely depict the action and graphicness of the manga.

Thinking of all the things you find in Gantz, how are they going to make a legal live action version?

A little more from Japan about the Gantz movie. Supposedly more footage which shows more than those previously released.

The talking point around this though is that both times the footage was shown on a morning television show which isnt the place one would normally expect to see shows of Gantz variety (Blood, guts and sex). This has led speculators to think that the movie will be very tame in comparison to the anime & manga.

I myself dont know what to think as Japan has proved on countless occassions that they have totally different views of whats appropiate and whats not.

Some little tidbits I picked up from various articles... Japan isnt too excited by the Gantz live-action , but apparently the rest of the world is?

Also, in a possibly unrelated but is linked to in most gantz-related articles some mother in america is claiming that Gantz caused her son to lose his mind. LOL
